The Reason Why Older Men Usually Suffer From Hair Loss

Baldness usually means complete or partial loss of hair. Hair loss is not only limited to the scalp, in some cases it can affect other areas of the body where hair usually grows. The Latin name for hair loss disorder is called Alopecia and there are so man various types of Alopecia categorized by the things that causes them and how severe it is.

Male pattern baldness is medically referred to as Androgenic Alopecia and it is in most cases attributed to men only (in a very tiny percent of the cases it could afflict women). The main factors that cause this condition are hereditary, aging and hormonal imbalance.

There are some abnormalities that trigger the things that could make the hair follicles stop producing hair strands. And this things usually first show the sign by making the hair thinner. Even though Alopecia androgenic is usually attributed to old men, it can affect any man at any age; but in 90% of the cases it usually afflicts men that are over the age of 40 years old. In men, androgenic alopecia is shown by a clear loss of hair on the top of the head while in women it is usually shown by thinning of hair which reduces the weight, thickness and volume of the hair.

There is a kind of hair loss issue that is as a result of a skin disorder and this type is known as Alopecia areata. In this case the body’s autoimmune system begins destroying the hair, before we know what’s happening a bald patch begins to appear on different areas of the head. In some severe cases there are situations where all the hair on the hair completely disappears - this one is called alopecia totalis. There is even a worse case where all the hair on the body falls off and never grows back, this one is known as alopecia universalis.

It is quite shocking when I found out that all these hair loss problems are usually suffered by men. I am sure you must be wondering why men should be the ones that have to go through this. To be able to know why, we need to have a clear understanding of the things that can actually cause it to occur. This is why it is advisable that men who are experiencing baldness should see their doctor for a proper diagnosis to find out if the condition is due to hormonal imbalance, hereditary condition or a defect in their autoimmune system. I think I also need to point out that in some cases baldness might be as result of a few psychological problems. Men that are suffering from psychological stresses very often are in most cases going to experience hair loss than those who are quietly living their life in peace and harmony. The moment the factor that is causing the baldness has been spotted, the appropriate treatment can now be used to stop hair loss and promote hair re-growth.

Androgenic alopecia and alopecia aerate vary in their degree of intensity. They could be either serious or just mild. Whether it is the mild or the serious type that is currently afflicting you, there are treatments that you can use to reverse the horrible trend. So if you are worried about your hair loss, there is no need to be. I will like to recommend Profollica which is a wonderful product that can help in re-growing hair on your hair.
